Named after the Queen of Hearts’ little sister, our duchess pays homage to Lewis Carroll’s Wonderland.

Our space

The Duchess has brought their particularly fabulous magic touch with them. Whilst recreating our new home, there’s been lots of changes along the way… you’ll just have to see it for yourselves.

Our ethos

If the last year taught us anything, is that we are fiercely social creatures, and if London is anything, it’s defined by its remarkably diverse Londoners, and our dedication to preserving our communities and our dignity in the face of all adversity. London is all walks of life, and nothing will take that from us.

Our community

Working alongside local artisans and businesses, sourcing local ingredients and even its own rooftop bee-friendly herb garden, The Duchess is a love letter to the supremely diverse melange of a community that has kindly welcomed the team into it’s folds.

Meet the family

Our sister bars

Callooh Callay, Shoreditch.

The Callooh Callay family of bars began back in 2008 with Callooh Callay Shoreditch, looking to create a modern, fun-loving cocktail hotspot with none of the pretension or hang-ups we knew cocktail bars often leant on.

And in the 12 years since, we’re grateful to have created a bit of a name for ourselves with our multiple awards; from World’s Best Cocktail Menu 2012, Best International High-Volume Cocktail Bar at Tales of the Cocktail 2016 and Top 4 in 2015, 2018, 2019, and named in Drinks International’s World’s 50 Best Bars 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016. Oh, and Best Drinks List 2020. It’s been a wild ride.

Little bat bar, islington.

Fast forward quite a few years, the shy younger sibling Little Bat Bar in Islington, not to be outdone, decided they wanted to win Best Bar and Best New Venue right off the bat (… that pun wasn’t intended) Angel/Islington 2016/2017. Doing what they do best, Little Bat is Islington’s cosy hideaway and local boozer with an expert cocktail menu to rival the rest of the family.

Callooh callay, chelsea.

And finally, in 2019, Callooh Callay took its own brand of #SeriousNonsense out west, to the distant lands of King’s Road, bringing East London hip to West End chic to the neighbourhood, with Callooh Callay Chelsea. Initially a pop up to last three months, the sun-beaten pavements of Chelsea’s premier high street made a perfect spot to people-watch with a G&T – so CCC went from pop up to permanent highlight to Chelsea’s nightlife.

“We've taken all we are, all we know and all we love and poured it into this Dalston local. I couldn't be prouder of our team, nor more grateful to the community I personally call home for welcoming us in, arms wide open.”
